FAQ'S
Cruelty-free products are those that are not tested on animals at any stage of their development. This includes both the ingredients used and the final product itself.
Opting for cruelty-free products helps protect animals from unnecessary harm and suffering. By supporting brands that do not conduct animal testing, you promote ethical practices and encourage the development of alternative testing methods.
While we do our best to offer vegan and cruelty free products, not all of our products are certified vegan and organic.
For example, in some instances, honey is used as an ingredient. Some products have a mixture of organic and non-organic ingredients.
The best way to find your favourite preference is to use the 'sort by' option on each collection page. If you select 'vegan' it will show all products that are vegan. Likewise for organic and other options available within the 'sort by' menu.

Dry skin – the silent plea for nourishment and moisture. It's more than just an inconvenience; it's a cry from your largest organ for attention and care. In the vast desert that dry skin can seem like, finding an oasis of hydration is essential. The market is flooded with products promising miracles, but for those with dry skin, it's about finding the right balance of ingredients that effectively hydrate without causing irritation.
Understanding Dry Skin
Before embarking on the journey of quenching your skin's thirst, it's important to understand what you're dealing with. Dry skin is characterized by a lack of moisture in the most superficial layer of the skin, the epidermis. In many cases, it's a matter of genetics, but it can also be aggravated by factors like climate, over-washing, harsh skincare products, and aging.
The Science Behind Dry Skin
The science of dry skin is rooted in the skin's barrier function, which is designed to protect against environmental aggressors and prevent moisture loss. When this barrier is compromised, skin becomes dehydrated, leading to tightness, flaking, and sometimes even eczema or inflammation.
Tailoring a Skincare Routine for Dry Skin
The cornerstone of managing dry skin lies in constructing a skincare routine that focuses on hydration and barrier repair.
Gentle Cleansing
The journey to hydration begins with a gentle cleanser. Opt for cream or lotion-based cleansers that contain hydrating ingredients like glycerin or hyaluronic acid, and steer clear of foaming agents that can strip skin of its natural oils.
The Power of Serums
Post-cleansing, serums are your next ally. Look for serums with a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, which can hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, or serums with ceramides that help restore the skin's barrier.
Moisturizers: Your Hydration Heroes
Moisturizers for dry skin should be rich in emollients and occlusives to lock in moisture. Ingredients like shea butter, plant oils, and squalane are excellent for keeping skin supple and preventing moisture loss.
Night-Time Nourishment
At night, the skin is in repair mode. This is the time to introduce heavier creams or facial oils that can penetrate deeply, providing intense hydration and aiding the skin's natural regenerative processes.
Weekly Pampering
Incorporate a weekly hydrating mask into your routine. Look for masks packed with nourishing oils, soothing antioxidants, and ingredients like aloe vera, which is renowned for its hydrating properties.
Ingredients That Quench Dry Skin
When curating products for your routine, the ingredient list is your roadmap to success.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid is a hydration powerhouse, drawing moisture into the skin and keeping it there long-term.
Glycerin
Glycerin, a humectant, works to pull water from the air into your skin, continuously providing hydration throughout the day.
Ceramides
Ceramides are the building blocks of your skin's barrier; they help to keep the skin's cells tight, preventing moisture loss and shielding against irritants.
Natural Oils
Natural oils like jojoba, argan, and rosehip provide a rich source of antioxidants and fatty acids, nourishing the skin and helping to repair the lipid barrier.
Lifestyle Considerations for Dry Skin
Hydration from the Inside Out
Skin hydration begins with internal health. Drink plenty of water and consume foods rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which help to fortify the skin's barrier.
The Role of Humidifiers
If you live in a dry climate, consider using a humidifier to add moisture to the air, which can help prevent your skin from drying out.
Avoiding Hot Showers
Hot showers can strip the skin of its natural oils. Opt for lukewarm water and keep your showers short.
Sun Protection
Dry skin is particularly susceptible to UV damage, which can degrade the skin's collagen and further impair its barrier function. Always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
The Routine for Dry Skin
Crafting the perfect skincare routine for dry skin is like creating a symphony; every step and product must be harmoniously coordinated to provide the best results.
Morning Routine
Gentle Cleanser: Start with a hydrating cleanser.
Serum: Apply a hyaluronic acid serum.
Moisturizer: Use a rich moisturizer with SPF or follow up with sunscreen.
Lip Care: Don't forget a nourishing lip balm.
Evening Routine
Cleansing: Remove makeup and cleanse without stripping the skin.
Serum: Introduce a ceramide-rich serum.
Eye Cream: Hydrate the delicate eye area.
Moisturizer/Oil: Lock in moisture with a heavier night cream or facial oil.
Weekly Indulgence
Once a week, treat your skin to a deeply hydrating mask and take the opportunity to exfoliate gently, removing any flaky skin and enhancing absorption of your hydrating products.
Dry skin doesn't have to be a lifelong struggle. With the right approach, products, and a touch of self-care, your skin can feel as lush and hydrated as a well-tended garden. Remember, the goal is to create a consistent routine that nurtures and respects your skin's unique needs. Let your skin drink in the moisture it's been craving and watch as it transforms from a parched landscape into an oasis of hydration.
